“I was lucky enough to get my Dream Job, managing a Venue at the London 2012 Olympic Games...fantastic! My next thought, who on earth can look after my best friend Arthur, my gorgeous West Highland Terrier?
I just didn't have anyone I could trust to look after him, I searched and searched and all I found were boarding kennels, now I know some are probably fantastic, but for me, the thought of sending Arthur, who has never left my side, to a kennels, was heartbreaking.
Just as things were getting desperate, a work colleague recommended Janet & Craig. I was apprehensive, but agreed to take Arthur to meet them. Janet & Craig are lovely, warm, down to earth people and I immediately felt comfortable in their company. Arthur fell in love with them, a little embarrassing for me!
A week later, I delivered Arthur, with all his belongings and as I left, he didn't really seem that bothered, I drove away in tears :-(
Now, the four months did not pass without trauma, Arthur unfortunately swallowed the end of the rawhide bone, (I had provided) whole and became very unwell. Janet & Craig rushed him to the local vets (8 doors up the road), they called me and told me I could come an stay, he'd managed to get it stuck inside him, they were just as distraught as me. I raced back from London and after a couple of operations, Arthur made a full recovery. Janet & Craig welcomed me into their home for two nights whilst I stayed to ensure he was OK.
Now, it may seem strange to recommend a business this way, but we all know that accidents happen! The way they responded, the genuine concern and care was heart-warming.
Arthur and I have made friends for life and I know he will always come back to visit.
If you, like me, simply adore your dog and want to know they are loved and well cared for whilst you are away, then look no further that Jake's Doggy Foster Care...but be warned, my little Arthur may well be visiting too!
